CALLING ALL ECAPE CRAFTERS: Submit your creation for Lithuba Lakho
Crafters and designers working in the Eastern Cape Province are invited to submit their outstanding creation for an exhibition at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum opening on the 29 of March 2019.
The LITHUBA LAKHO (THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY): TOP EASTERN CAPE CRAFT EXHIBITION AND COMPETITION, supports the development of top export quality craft from a diverse range of disciplines. This competition and exhibition is designed to promote excellence in our local craft market and has been initiated by the Eastern Province Development Corporation and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum (Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality).
This is the fourth installment of this competition: In past years’ crafters submitted a range of wears for sale, this year we are asking for your most outstanding piece to be displayed on an exhibition of excellence for the public to view and admire. Works will be for sale but as high end once off objects.
Once again there will be prizes for the most outstanding work. There will be four winners in the categories of homeware, contemporary accessories, traditional accessories and apparel. Each category winner will receive a prize of materials or machinery of their choice to the value of R 15 000.00. The top ten crafters will be profiled in a brochure publication which will include professional photographic images of their work.
